(Take me anywhere)

Take me anywhere

safer than a bookcase.

I am full of the cinnamon smell

and damp hair.

Our wards are powerless, still, in the face

of such promising Oathbreakers.

It will never be done—This malevolent koan.

The rocks are slippery, and country hands

crack and bleed.

Cryptography

Fugitives,

Your mission this week is to reassemble the lyrics you transcribed from the sampling played during the meeting last Tuesday. Your objective is to create, re-create, or similarly construct a poem out of a line or section of your transcription.

Feel free to post your results here. Think of this as learning process in the art of cryptography--a necessary trade for all fugitives.

Stay loose.

Why Most Of These Poems Are Terrible (written for 492)

bubbling up from the bottom
(like broth) (in a stew)
infusing each image
(floating) (like beans)
with flavor and meaning
good metaphors take time to develop.

I just bought a microwave,
haven’t unpacked my good cast-iron pans.
I give you
a handful of words on a paper plate,
frozen on one side
and covered in Velveeta.
