Sloppy Flag

You are the indicator with the puppy

smile that can taste children beneath deep mud.

The people have learned to reach into water colliding

callus with scale. You performed a break

dance against the wood of the boat.

Carrying sharp sticks, they lay you across the sun

exposing fleshy gills.

With his sandy
bleach-blonde eyes
I'll never see again.

The tuberculosis got him.
